Reverse

Introduction

When operating locally, using throttle or pedal inputs, it is possible to command the motor to go in reverse via a switch or a message over the network. This page describes the available inputs and how to configure the parameters accordingly.

Reverse inputs

Firmware 6.018 and older

Cruise/Digital input 1 is the only input option.

Typically a single throw switch is used between Cruise and Ground.

Firmware 6.019 and newer

Available input sources include Cruise/Digital input 1, PFS/Digital input 2 or network.

For Cruise or PFS, typically a single throw switch is used between your selected input and Ground.

For network, a command must be sent to Remote Digital Commands bit 15 Enable reverse.

Firmware 6.018 and older

  1. Enable Features bit 1 Reverse enable on cruise.
  2. If in a speed limiting mode, limit the reverse speed via Vehicle jog speed.
  3. Enable Features bit 7 Reverse interlock disable if you wish to be able to switch to reverse without coming to a full stop first.
  4. Enable reverse and verify ebike flags bit 8 Reverse is active by pulling Cruise to ground. E.g. close the switch.

    1. For Cruise or PFS, pull the input to ground. E.g. Close the switch.
